State House District 16
In 2022, I ran for and won this seat to fight for a solid foundation in life for every Coloradan, and I’ve stepped up to do just that over the last couple of years. We were ready for an upgrade in our representation in Colorado Springs, and HD-16 deserves an effective legislator who will work proactively for the good of all our neighbors.
I came to this office as the underdog with a working class background and none of the formal credentials of most people in the political class. I’ve relied instead on the same grit and resourcefulness that got me through my tumultuous youth and early adulthood. I’ve proven to be an effective legislator, achieving major legislative win in housing, clean energy, LGBTQ rights, worker empowerment, and transportation choice.
Is there any aspect of the Colorado or El Paso County Democratic Party platforms that you do not agree or align with?
Nothing significant.
What single issue/problem/situation will you address first if elected and how will you do it in the context of the position you will serve in?
I intend to bring back a bill I was not able to pass in my first term, which will bring more suicide prevention training opportunities into workplaces.
