Congressional District 5

Orlondo Avion - Congressional District 5

Date of Affiliation: 8/10/2004

My name is Orlondo Avion and I’m a native Coloradan, born into a military family in Sterling Colorado. I went to S.A. Wilson, Sproul Junior High and graduated from Widefield…Go Gladiators!

I attended the Air Force Academy, CU Boulder and graduated from UCCS with an engineering degree. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to stay in Colorado and, in particular, Colorado Springs. I’ve worked at Quantum, Depuy Synthes, Maxtor, Philips and Johnson & Johnson.

I’m married, with adult children, and have been and am a small business owner.

I want to further Democratic values, but what is the definition of insanity? It is repeating the same action and expecting a different result. That’s why I want to install three solutions into our broken political process.

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV)
Multi-Member Districts (MMD)
Proportional Voting Power (PVP)

These ideas solve:
First Past the Post.
Winner Takes All
Gerrymandering.
Spoiler Vote, And.
Costly Runoffs.

RCV, alone, could have saved the Springs a million dollars in the most recent mayoral elections.

I’d love to talk to you more about how we can move forward, gain truer representation and create a more perfect Colorado Springs and America.

Thank you for your vote!
